NEMA-certified, IFC-standard ESIA studies for Uganda and East Africa's most complex development projects.
An Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) is a mandatory regulatory process in Uganda required by the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) before any significant development project can be approved. It identifies, predicts, evaluates and mitigates the biophysical, social and other relevant effects of development proposals prior to major decisions and commitments.
Foresters Environmental Consultants Ltd is fully NEMA-certified (Reg. No. CC/EIA/168/20) to prepare and submit ESIAs for projects of all scales across Uganda and East Africa.
Under Uganda's National Environment Act 2019 and the National Environment (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations, an ESIA or Project Brief is required for any project listed in the Second Schedule, including:
We review your project design to determine the appropriate level of assessment required and scope the key environmental and social issues to investigate.
